Position Overview

RecruitGo is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Accountant who will handle a diverse range of tax compliance, financial reporting, and business advisory work for a wide variety of clients within a friendly team and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include:

• Preparation of tax returns using the latest Australian tax rules for companies, trusts, individual businesses, self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF’s) and partnerships
• Preparation of financial statements for companies, partnerships, trusts, SMSFs, individual businesses and partnerships, including preparation of workpapers, resolution of accounting discrepancies and errors in client accounting files, and proactively raising queries and suggestions regarding clients' records.
• Preparation of quarterly and monthly activity statements, quarterly superannuation reporting, trust minutes, company dividends statements, ASIC annual reporting, and TPAR reporting
• Assist clients with tax planning and forecasting, including regular tax forecasting and preparation of tax planning workpapers and calculations for trust distributions and superannuation contributions
• Assistance with client Xero files, including reviews of accuracy and correction of errors, provision of advice to clients on various Xero requests, and assistance with setting up Xero bank feeds, payroll, and auto-super.
• Management of workflow and ensuring jobs are completed on time.

• Accounting degree or a related degree with a major in accounting.
• Completed or working towards completion of CA / CPA.
• At least 1 year accounting & taxation experience
• Either Australian tax experience or keen to learn Australian tax to have a in-depth understanding of Australian taxation legislation, including but not limited to GST, capital gains tax, Division 7A, depreciation, personal services income, and taxation of self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF)
•  Experience with Xero preferred
•  Ability to demonstrate excellent academic standards
•  Excellent English writing and verbal skills
•  Strong attention to detail
•  Ability to be productive, work independently, and manage multiple clients.
•  High level of integrity and professionalism.
•  Ability to be able to identify and resolve issues
