Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including transactions, expenditures, and income, ensuring they are up to date.
Financial Statements Preparation: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting, helping the organization manage and allocate resources effectively.
Tax Preparation and Filing: Prepare tax returns, ensure compliance with tax laws, and manage tax liabilities and deductions.
Audit Preparation: Prepare for internal or external audits by ensuring records and financial documents are accurate and complete.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment of bills and receipt of payments.
Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliation of bank statements, credit card transactions, and accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide reports to management for decision-making purposes.
Compliance and Regulation: Ensure the organization complies with accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS) and financial regulations, including tax codes and corporate laws.
Advisory Role: Provide financial advice to help improve profitability, reduce costs, and ensure efficient use of financial resources.
Requirements
Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required. A Master’s degree or accounting certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are often preferred for advanced roles.
Experience: Previous experience in accounting or finance is generally required, with a deeper level of experience needed for senior or specialized roles.
Skills:
Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Familiarity with accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS) and standards.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing and reviewing financial data and transactions.
