Description

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers as they arrive and escort them to their table.
  • Provide menus and answer any questions about the menu items, daily specials, or restaurant offerings.
  • Take customer orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff.
  • Ensure customer needs are met promptly and effectively during their dining experience.

Food and Beverage Service:

  • Serve food and drinks to customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Deliver food to the table according to restaurant standards, ensuring the correct order and presentation.
  • Refill beverages, clear empty dishes, and offer additional items as necessary (e.g., condiments, bread, etc.).

Order Management and Communication:

  • Accurately input orders into the restaurant’s POS system and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff.
  • Communicate with the kitchen and other staff to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages.
  • Keep track of customer orders and ensure timely delivery of items without errors or delays.

Maintaining Cleanliness:

  • Clear dirty dishes, utensils, and glasses promptly and clean the dining area when needed.

Handling Payments:

  • Present the check to customers, process payments, and handle cash or credit card transactions accurately. Provide receipts and ensure that guests are satisfied before they leave.

Teamwork:

  • Work closely with other servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and effective communication with all team members.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Follow restaurant policies regarding health and safety, including handling food allergies, dietary restrictions, and hygiene practices.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a waiter or in a customer service role is often preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.

Customer Service Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

Attention to Detail:

  • Ability to listen carefully to customer orders, remember preferences, and provide excellent service.

Multitasking:

  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tables, orders, and customer needs simultaneously.

Physical Stamina:

  • Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays or large items, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-Solving:

  • Ability to address customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
