Description

  • Ensure full compliance with Bureau of Customs (BOC) regulations, Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), and other relevant Philippine trade and customs laws.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and changes from government agencies such as BOC, DTI, PEZA, BOI, FDA, BIR, DA, and NTC.
  • Review and validate shipping documents, import/export permits, and tariff classifications.
  • Perform tariff classification of goods and identify the appropriate regulated government agency/ies.
  • Collate and verify the completeness of documentary requirements per regulatory agency based on product classification.
  • Facilitate the application and acquisition of necessary import and export permits, clearances, and licenses from various government agencies such as:
  • FDA (Food and Drug Administration)
  • BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue)
  • DA (Department of Agriculture and its sub-agencies like BAI/BPI/BFAR)
  • NTC (National Telecommunications Commission)
  • DTI (Department of Trade and Industry)
  • Conduct regular audits of import/export transactions and declarations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with licensed customs brokers, importers/exporters, and regulatory liaisons to resolve any issues related to permits and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for audit readiness and regulatory reporting.
  • Investigate and report compliance breaches, and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Develop and conduct compliance training for operations and client servicing teams.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, accreditations, and renewals.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections or investigations.
  • Assist in internal control development and policy documentation related to trade compliance.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Customs Administration, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • Licensed Customs Broker (preferred but not required).
  • At least 1 year of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or trade compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of CMTA, BOC processes, and Philippine import/export regulations.
  • Familiarity with E2M system, VASP portals, and PEZA/BOI/FDA/BIR/DA/NTC processes is a strong advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to regulatory compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in a variety of document and photo editing applications, including the sophisticated Adobe Photoshop, the versatile Canva, and others.
