Are you looking for a new challenge in the water sector? Do you have a passion for fluid mechanics and want to work on diverse, impactful projects around the world? Join Haskoning as a Hydraulic Engineer in our Water Technology Products (WTP) Business Unit, where you will contribute to the design and delivery of innovative solutions. As part of the globally connected Design & Engineering team, you will be performing hydraulic calculations, solving complex water transport challenges, and helping develop digital tools. We are looking for a self-motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative environment, even when working remotely. No two days are the same—so if you are ready to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
What You Do As a Hydraulic Engineer
As a Hydraulic Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of advanced water technology products. Your focus will be on the hydraulic engineering aspects of our solutions, contributing directly to the design, analysis, and optimization of water transport systems and pumping stations. You will have the opportunity to grow into a technical specialist or project leader, supported by experienced colleagues and a collaborative environment.
You will be instrumental in advancing our engineering capabilities and ensuring the performance and reliability of our water technology offerings. Your work will support the innovation and growth ambitions of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hydraulic Design & Analysis: Design and optimize water transport systems, including pumping stations, pipelines, and associated infrastructure for clients such as water boards, municipalities, utilities, contractors, and industrial partners
- Problem Solving: Address complex hydraulic challenges such as water hammer, pressure surges, and capacity limitations using advanced modelling and simulation tools
- Technical Calculations: Perform hydraulic calculations using tools such as Excel, Wanda, EPANET, and InfoWorks to support design decisions and ensure system performance
- Reporting & Communication: Document your findings in clear, concise report, and present technical insights to clients and project stakeholders
- Project Involvement: Contribute to large-scale multidisciplinary projects as well as manage multiple smaller assignments. Occasional international travel may be part of your role, depending on project needs and your interest
- Digital Innovation: Participate in the development of digital tools that enhance our design and advisory capabilities. This includes parametric design tools for pumping stations, Digital Twins for system monitoring and commissioning, and tools for evaluating circular design impacts.
We value engineers who are eager to innovate, collaborate, and continuously improve our hydraulic engineering practices and tools.
